Support Analyst/Specialist

As a Support Analyst/Specialist, you will work closely with customers on a variety of tasks, which include: crafting SQL queries, data manipulation via PL/SQL and Transact-SQL, report design, complex software installation, project management, and diagnostic procedures/troubleshooting. You will be interacting with IT staff, Dept. Heads, DBA's, and end users.

You will be advising and trouble shooting on all levels, OS difficulties, updates to software, environment problems, database management, report writing. You will need to have a very good understanding of databases, know SQL well, be knowledgeable in OS 's , hardware configurations and common problems encountered. Support is conducted via email , phone and occasional onsite visits. You will travel intermittently to customer sites for implementations and trainings on our software. This is not an entry level, call center, canned answer position. This is a position that is crucial to the success of ChemSW's customers. You will be an advisor to the customer in not only the use and functions of the programs, but also how to utilize best practices in chemical inventory management. You will have direct contact with the ChemSW development team, the QA, and Sales departments to aid in continuing to be the market leader in our field.

Core Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of database concepts - tables, columns, PK/FK relationships
  • SQL familiarity - SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE; table joins; data filtering; PL/SQL and/or Transact-SQL
  • Advanced Windows experience: registry editing, working with services, troubleshooting
  • Ability to provide customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers

Valuable experience:

  • Software diagnostic tools (SQL Profiler, Oracle Trace, Process Monitor, or other diagnostic software)
  • Chemistry and/or laboratory experience
  • Customer support experience including support ticket tracking/handling
  • Report writing skills (crystal reports, access, any banded GUI report designers)
  • Data analysis/analytics
  • Training experience
  • Manual installation / configuration of software
  • Kiln, FogBugz, Oracle, SQL Server, IIS, VMWare
