ChemSW Releases Tier II Enhancements for CISPro Global and CISPro Live

Comprehensive Tier II Reporting Capability Delivers Automated, Validated Reports

ChemSW, Inc. today announced the availability of enhanced Tier II reporting capabilities for their CISPro Global and CISPro Live Chemical Inventory Systems. These enhancements enable CISPro users to accurately and automatically track, calculate, and report hazardous chemicals on site to address government reporting requirements.

Tier II chemical inventory reports are required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), which is also known as the Superfund Amendments & Reauthorization Act (SARA). EPCRA requires organizations that have hazardous chemicals on site to submit reports about those chemicals to various state and local agencies.

“The key is knowing both details about your hazardous chemicals and the specific reporting requirements for those chemicals,” explains Dave Hessler, Vice President of Software Research and Development at ChemSW. “Organizations need to track not only the daily amount of chemicals on site at any given time, but the maximum quantity and daily average amounts to ensure that they do not exceed the allowable threshold levels for those chemicals.”

“The theory is simple,” he continues, “but different agencies and jurisdictions require a different look and format for the information, so that a simple reporting process suddenly becomes a complex one. CISPro can track the listed chemicals, perform the calculations, and generate validated reports, making it much easier for companies to address the Tier II requirements.” Many fields such as the Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) registry number are already resident in CISPro.

CISPro Global and CISPro Live contain user-customizable Tier II reporting templates with fields for average daily amount, maximum amount, hazard categories, number of days on site, storage location, type of storage, as well as pressure and temperature conditions. Alternatively, ChemSW can create a report template specific to the customer’s requirements. “Some reports require more detail about the physical location of the chemical; some reports require less,” Hessler adds.

CISPro replaces error-prone spreadsheet systems, and eliminates the reporting problems caused by incompatible PCs, fields that can not be modified, record sorting limitations, etc. Ensuring that hazardous chemicals are managed from a single comprehensive software solution provides real-time knowledge of chemical status, ensures accurate chemical data, and eliminates report validation errors.

The enhancements are now resident in CISPro Global and CISProLive, and available for current users by request.
